The University of Hawaii at Hilo baseball team host California Baptist University in a four-game Pacific West Conference series at Wong Stadium.
Today and Wednesday the teams play a single 9-inning game beginning at 6 p.m. A 4 p.m. doubleheader is scheduled for Tuesday.
The Vulcans are 4-13 overall and 1-7 in the Pacific West Conference while the Lancers are 17-4 overall and 14-2 in the PacWest.
ESPN 850 AM is scheduled to broadcast today’s and Wednesday’s games.
UHH softball
Today’s PacWest softball doubleheader between the University of Hawaii at Hilo and Brigham Young University-Hawaii will be played on the Old Kona Airport Softball Field beginning at noon.
Flag football
Panaewa Alii is looking for cheer coaches and a cheer coordinator for upcoming tackle football season.
And there are also some positions on the board still available. Interested parties may call Abraham at 808-854-3819.
Flag football is underway and the Panaewa Alii are currently practicing at Waiakea Intermediate School, Tuesday through Friday.
Puna AYSO
Registration for the Puna AYSO Spring 2012 season has started.
There is room in all age groups; girls and boys between the ages of 4 through 18. Four year olds must have birthday before August 1st 2011.
Registration fees are $20 for returning fall season 2011 players and $35 for new players.

AYSO is an all volunteer organization which stresses good sportsmanship and positive coaching.
Enrollment is open to anyone, and everyone gets to play on equally balanced teams. Practice begins in April and games run through June.
All coaches and referees are certified and trained volunteers. There is limited space available for players and volunteers.
